How To Prepare Fried Tilapia With Ugali and Kachumbari

There is something so elemental about gathering friends and family around a beautifully fried whole fish and going at it with Ugali. ( A Starchy accompaniment made of corn meal /semolina and water.A staple in most households because its easy to make and the ingredients are low cost.)


  • 2 Tbsp Salt
  • 2 Cups Cooking Oil
  • 2 Pieces of Whole Tilapia.(cleaned and scales removed)


  • Rub salt and pepper to the fish and Deep fry until golden brown and crisp on each side which is about 20 mins.
  • Serve with slices of Lemon and kachumbari
